Dear Community Members,

The Haitian American Museum of Chicago (HAMOC) stands with the Black community here in

Chicago, the United States, Haiti and around the world. To the thousands of people who have

marched and will continue to march in the name of George Floyd and all the other individuals

who have lost their lives at the hands of law enforcement: We hear you, we are with you, and

we will continue to uphold the voices of oppressed people every single day.

During this time, your safety, mental health and wellbeing are at the forefront of our mind.

HAMOC is here to support all people advocating to end systemic racism in our society.

Transformation and change do not come without unity, and we are dedicated to continuing this

work with you.

Our mission has always been to uplift diverse voices and showcase the beauty of Haitian

culture and our broader multiethnic community. We believe honoring art, history and heritage

are essential to our vibrant democracy, and we’ll continue to showcase the beauty of the Black

community in the days and years to come.

We look forward to a time when society embraces diversity and equality for all. Please contact

us if we can be of help.
