The Haitian American Museum of Chicago (HAMOC) is the newest agency within the City of Chicago’s Legal Protection Fund (LPF) and Illinois Access to Justice (ILA2J) Community Navigator Programs. These educational programs allow HAMOC to provide workshops on topics such as Know Your Rights and Unauthorized Practice of Law. HAMOC is also able to provide any Haitian and non-Haitian migrant and new arrival a referral to the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) for a free consultation for their legal immigration needs.

These referrals are for the following services:

Removal (deportation) proceedings
Adjustment of Status
DACA renewals
Defensive Asylum (extremely limited)
Protection based immigration
(U visa, T visa, VAWA, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status)
Juvenile Status
Renewal of green cards
Temporary Protected Status
